George Weston Limited & Weston Foods (Canada) Inc: In 2008 we took steps to refine our mandate to focus on helping Canadian children to become more healthy and active. Within this area our funding currently supports charitable organizations across Canada that are working to increase access to high-quality recreational activities for children in Kindergarten to Grade 8. Funding is available for programs that meet our criteria, which are offered year-round.

Loblaw Companies Limited and President’s Choice Children’s Charity: This charity helps physically and developmentally challenged children and their families by removing obstacles that make everyday life extremely difficult. In 2008 PCCC awarded $9.5 million to more than 1,000 Canadian families. In additions, PCCC announced a $3 million donation to Breakfast for Learning over the next three years.

The W. Garfield Weston Foundation: A charitable Canadian foundation associated with the Company with major grants directed to specific organizations in the fields of education, land conservation, and science in Canada’s North. This has included premier scholarships offered through the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation encouraging university and college students to excel and take leadership in their schools and within their communities. Working in partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada, the Foundation celebrates some of the largest private conservation initiatives in Canadian history.
